  • Descrição: A furniture maker, Kostas, tries to save around three million drachmas in order to provide his older sister Katina with a dowry. He hopes that this will assure a match with Solon, neighborhood merchant. His big brother, Giannis, who is a migrant in America, makes an unexpected visit with his Greek-American wife Magda and tries to prove that he is now Johnny and that family problems do not concern him in the least. An old family friend, Vangelis, who has abandoned the sea to live on land, understands how things are and asks for the hand of Katina (whom he has loved since he was a kid) and thus offers a solution to a typical family problem.
